The Time Machine - a Musical Adventure

(Fairly loosely) based on the novel by H G Wells

I have been fascinated by the idea of time travel since I was a boy, largely inspired by this story.  I started writing the words for a musical based on this story, many years ago, but my lack of musical knowledge prevented me from turning into a full version.  Suno has now made that possible.

For anyone not familiar with the story, very briefly, it is this; back in Victorian/Edwardian England, a man invents a machine for time travel.  He invites some friends round to see it, but they are not impressed, so he make his first trip to demonstrate to them that it works.

He travels far into the future, to a time after some war or disaster.  The human race has divided into two types; the Eloi, a race which lives on the surface a life of idle ease, provided by the Morlocks, a sub-human race which lives underground.  The catch is that the Eloi are food for the Morlocks, who are cannibals.

The traveller sees a girl of the Eloi fall into a river; she makes no attempt to save herself, and none of the others make any move to help her.  The Traveller rescues her and falls in love with her, but later returns to his own time.  If you would like to hear them in the right sequence, it is 1) Time to go, 2) The Machine Works!, 3) First Love, 4) The Girl's Song, 5) The Morlocks' Song and 6) Journey's End.
